I hope your day is full of nothing but sunshine and smiles, and that you get that phone call you want so badly.

A quick post to say Happy Birthday to a good friend.
I won’t tell you how old he is, suffice to say he’s been around a while!!

Not as long as me, but a while all the same.
I hope your day is full of family, Guinness and lots of fun {despite the football result!!}
Now, the scary part here is there is a female version of ~m. He’s a twin!
Fortunately for all concerned, she doesn’t shave her head though!!
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting this lady on Christmas day via Skype too, so I feel quite comfortable adding her in this post.
Happy birthday to both ~m and m~.
I hope your year is full of the best things life has to offer, and that all your dreams come true.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, there has been much happening in our lives, and I can assure you, most of it has been pretty shitful.
I won’t go into details, suffice to say the past 6 weeks have not been a happy time, nor has it been easy.
There have been a few times when it was close to falling apart, but as I said not too long ago, we do what we must.
Yesterday, things changed, with a dismissal.
Today it just got better, because Mark got exactly what he’s worked so hard for in the last year.
That one word {yes} will change many things for us, and for others.
The pride I feel tonight is quite extraordinary.
I wouldn’t even know where to start telling this man how proud I am of him, or how much I love him.
Sweetheart, your ethics, integrity, and the things I know you’re going to do from here on in make me smile broadly, and merely reinforce all the reasons I fell in love with you 14 years ago.
I just know how well you’re going to do this, and I look forward to seeing you bounce out of bed in the morning, ready to tackle the day that awaits with the passion I know you have.
Congratulations sweetie.
You earned this one the hard way.
Now I come to think about, I earned it too!!!
Honey, as proud as I am, know this.
You might be a big wig at work, but here at home you’re still just my husband, so you’d best be leaving the big boy boots at the front door my precious!

How good is this baby?
Major surgery on Monday, home Friday afternoon.
Damn we breed ‘em tough don’t we????
Mark has decided he’s a future flanker for the Wallabies.
{Why does that not shock me??}
Lucas was discharged today, much to Mel and Steve’s delight, and they were going to surprise the other kids when they picked them up from school too.

The whole family thank you all for the emails, texts and messages of support.
It’s been fabulous!

Mel and Steve.
Tomorrow will be hard for you.
Very hard.
Inside is fear that clutches your hearts as your tiny little boy has his surgery, I know.
Please know I’ll be there beside you every inch of the way, and I can only hope that will help in some small way.
In an another small effort to help you, I found the Fairy of Hope.
She is there look over you all, and hopefully give you strength through what will be a difficult time.
Take hope over fear.
Please?
Hope is much warmer than the cold, icy fingers of fear.
Hope is the sweetest feeling of all.

To anyone who visits, please spare a thought and prayer for these guys tomorrow.
Lucas is only 2 1/2 months old and he’s off into hospital for surgery.
Anything you can send their way would be much appreciated.

Yes, I hijacked Moe’s blog, hence the snow . . . :O)
Got a call from my wife on my way home from my gig and she was
overly excited knowing that Maureen and Mark had made it here safe.
They are currently @LAX due for a flight at midnight and will arrive in Boston tomorrow morning. (with WriterChick!)
Although I hear thunder off in the distance as I type this,
I know that whatever the weather is tomorrow, the sun will be shining.

We have a new baby boy, AND a result

We’re thrilled to announce the arrival of Lucas John, born Monday June 15th @ 2.21pm, weighing in at 7lb 7ozs.
Mum and baby are both well, Dad is strutting around like he invented fatherhood, Poppy is back slapping and Nannys nerves are shot.
Hey! Gimme a break here.
That this is number 9 doesn’t make any difference, so before you say it, I can assure you it does NOT get any easier as time goes by.
That’s my baby giving birth dammit!
{No, that’s not him in the pic. He’s a lot cuter than that thank you very much!!}

Now, onto other news.
Polling has closed and we have a winner!!
Damn it was close, but there can only be one as we all know, and the one is………

Annie!
The voting was so close I had to wait for votes to come to a result, and there was only one vote in it at the end.
Everybody did very well as we all know, but as I said, there can only be one writer for the final chapter, and Annie was the one.
I actually have the final chapter, and tomorrow night it will be posted, so make sure you check back for the gripping conclusion to Fried Green Bloggers at the Twitter Cafe.
Before someone says it, yes, I know there is not one thing in there about bloggers or Twitter, but I love the way it rolls off the tongue!

A baby is due, and voting is happening

Just a quick post with a couple of little things you need to know about.
The votes are coming in, and with only 2 people still to cast theirs, it close.
I mean, CLOSE!
There is very little in it and could go any way at this stage.
No, I will not say who voted for who, suffice to say it’s been interesting reading the emails that have come in.
I’ve been and visited the 2 people left to vote because I NEED them before I can let the person know for sure.
One vote for any of them could swing it, that’s how close it is.
Emails have been sent to the people in the running just to give them a heads up so they have time to gather their thoughts should they need them.
As soon as I know, and I’ve let the person involved know, then I’ll let everyone else know through a post.
On another note, tomorrow is quite the day in our household.
At around 1.30 tomorrow we’ll have another grandson.
Mel and Steve have let everyone know what they’re having and tomorrow is the day we’ve been waiting for since it was scheduled.
Send some prayers to whoever you worship for me, if you would be so kind?
She’s had some problems, and one or 2 may continue after the birth, so I’ve got fingers, noses and toeses crossed.
I’ll be at the hospital by the time they’ve got him out, cos that’s what Mums do isn’t it?
In fact wild horses couldn’t keep me away!
As you go about your day tomorrow, spare Melissa a thought if you could.
I know I would appreciate it, and have no doubt Mel will as well.
I hope your weekend has treated you kindly. I know mine has.
And with the promise of another munchkin joining our family tomorrow, I’m sure the week will be just as good.
