Yep, it’s Monday again.
The time of the week when we try an give you a little lift after the first bitchin’ day of the week.
Now, I have an odd sense of humor.
I’m one of those who actually DO think it’s funny when old people fall over or some little kid comes a gutser off their bike and skins every visible part of them.
I was trawling that wondrous site You Tube earlier this week and came across this video.
The minute I watched it, I knew it was destined for the blog.
Once you’ve had a look, don’t forget to visit my cohorts in Mark, ~m and Muffy who are sure to have some more little tit bits to tickle you fancy.
As I always say.
You simply cannot have your fancy tickled too much.

Looking to expand

It’s rather obvious I have a small blogroll.
That’s always been my choice though, and I’m not complaining, but blogging seems to be almost seasonal is the thing.
There is a flurry of activity, then it settles into 5 parts of bugger all for a little while, then a flurry, then it settles, and so on and so forth.
The only small problem that creates for me is, I enjoy reading blogs.
I spend an enormous amount of time online between several blogs, FB, Twitter, all those things, and I enjoy the blogs I have on my roll, don’t get me wrong, but I was wondering if it’s time to expand my blogroll?
Many of the blogs I started with on my roll are now defunct.
They’ve either been deleted, the owner has maybe lost interest, or their lives have changed and they simply don’t have time anymore.
I’m quite picky when it comes to what I will and won’t read is one small problem.
I’m not into mummy blogs, not that there’s anything wrong with them, they’re just not my cup of tea is all, any more than political blogs are.
Watching paint dry is more likely to keep my attention than either of the above.
I prefer blogs to be a bit of a mixture, you know?
Some serious posts, some humor, a bit of satire now and then, and as you can well imagine, the odd spurt of cursing doesn’t bother me, nor does graphic content.
I love to laugh, and I don’t even mind being moved to tears, which is more than possible depending on the content.
So my question to you is, how do you decide which blogs you roll and which ones you don’t?
Many blogs have an established community happening, and it’s not easy sometimes, to integrate into that community.
There have been times when I’ve felt like an intruder to someone’s party.
You speak and there’s no response, you speak a little louder, still nothing, and by the 3rd time it happens, all you want to do is go home because you feel invisible {ignorant bastards that they are}
In my reader I have a “probation” folder.
I subscribe to a new blog, and if it keeps me interested, then I take more notice.
Those that can keep me interested for more than a month are the ones I refer to.
These have been few and far between is my dilemma.
So.
Do you have any recommendations?
Ideas?
Suggestions?
Anything?

I would hate to see you end up in the spam queue! {having said that, I am quite expert at slaying the spam dragon!!}
I’ll look at everything you suggest.
You guys probably know me better than most, so it only makes sense to ask the question.

Tonto, disguised as a door, was having his knob pulled.
Nah. Just kidding!
It’s an oldie but a goodie though.

Now we’re over the little speed hump with Lucas, tis time to be getting back to our little adventure.
So.
Once all attendees were in residence, it was time for some fun and games.
Now, as most would agree, games are best played whilst imbibing in the odd alcoholic beverage <----- read shit loads of whatever you fancy.
Picture 2 mad Australians trying to teach some crazy Americans how to play that Saturday night favourite, Celebrity Head, throw lots of alcohol in the mix, and you have just one night of mayhem with all of us at the house!
Please remember here, there are 5 people who have never even heard of the game, most of whom are well on the way to being rather pissed, 2 people trying to explain the idea and rules of said game, who were even more pissed, we’re still waiting on the didg to be delivered, so I’m somewhat frigging antsy, the only thing we have to stick on people’s heads are post it notes, and it’s bloody dark, so noone can see a damned thing, with me seeing the least, because I’m night blind.
The last little point necessitated the use of a torch so we could see who had what name on their forehead.
A few of them nearly had their eyes sucked out by said torch, cos the aim of those holding the torch was a little impaired!
Sounds like a hoot, right?
Oh, it was a fucking hoot I can assure you!
The girls chose not to participate, so they were given the task of choosing the names to be used in this mad cap little evening around the fire pit.
And what names they chose too!
Damn they did well, given we needed names that everyone would recognise, not only American or Aussie ones.
Here is just a small taste of the names they chose:
Princess Diana <--- Mark got her, his very least favourite person in the world!
John Lennon <--- Took me forever to get this one right!
Michael Jackson <--- The timing on this was brilliant we thought
Paris Hilton <--- Evyl got this one! Too funny when you see the size of this small man mountain!!
The Grim Reaper <--- Me! Yeah thanks for that one girls!
Michael Murphy <--- Yep, Michael got himself, and one of his questions was “Am I gay?” How tempted were we to say yes???
Elvis Presley <--- Joyce was flummoxed for quite a while on this one
The Tooth Fairy <--- A gender question sparked a 10 min debate on whether the fairy is male or female. It was decided female BTW
Marilyn Monroe <--- Michael again, and his excitement when he found out he was not only blonde, but had nice boobs, was something to behold!
JFK <— This in the same round as Marilyn Monroe. You can well imagine the hints being thrown around!
We gave hints after 3 questions had been asked, otherwise we would have been there all night.
{Came close to that anyway I think!}
The hints were, at times, better than the actual game, and there was much laughter, with quite a few debates on the validity of answers given to questions.
There were many more names, and many more rounds, more laughter than you could poke a stick at, and it was a brilliant night overall.
For the life of me I can’t remember who was who other than those I’ve mentioned above, so if any of the said participants read this, please fill me in?
I was after all, pretty pissy at the time!!
I guess 8 or 9 bourbons will do that to you though??
This game was such a hit in the states that at a recent 16th birthday party it was played, so to all you Aussies, know that this was just one small way of educating people on the madness that is part of being Australian, and it would seem we were quite successful.
For a 16 year old to play one of our games at her birthday party tells me it was well received!
My next post on the wonderful time we had will be about another game.

Colour me Evyl

Many have been waiting for this post, I know, however life has been kicking my butt since we got home, and I’ve had a lot on my mind, but slowly, I’m getting there.
Onwards.
It was time to be gone to the Cape once showers, coffee and donuts were had.
Found the house, got the tour, time for lunch.
What else but seafood??
Damn it was good! Every word you hear about New England seafood is 100% accurate.
Plus I had my first root beer!
Interesting to say the least.
A cross between creaming soda and sasparilla if I had to describe it.
After lunch {and me being presented with my first souvenir, by Pam..thanks sweetie!} it was to the market.
Another eye opener for yours truly.
How bloody cheap are groceries over there???
I was like a kid in a lolly shop, all bug eyed and not sure where to look first.
Get the shopping done, onto the bottle shop, where we promptly gave the credit card a bit of a nudge {no surprise there I guess??}
Food? Check
Alcohol? Check
Full bellies? Check
Back to the house, unpack the groceries, unpack clothes, and finally…time to plant our arses and pour a drink!
Fast forward to midnight, by which time we were almost deliriously tired.
After extracting promises from everyone to NOT let us sleep beyond 8.00am, it was time to fall into bed for our first nights sleep under northern hemisphere skies.
I vaguely remember getting to bed, and whilst I have no recollection of my head actually hitting the pillow, I can just about guarantee you, I appreciated that pillow more than any other I’ve ever put my head on!
Promises were kept and promptly at 8.00am, we were woken up.
My first thought, even before my eyes opened?
Evyl arrives today!!!! Most exciting.
Soon we would be 4.
Now, Evyl had a plan where the destination was Hyannis, on the Cape, thus making it quite easy for Michael to collect he and Joyce.
The best laid plans of mice and men….
First plane was late, thus they missed the connecting flight.
Eventually, after much toing and froing with phones calls between he and Michael, we ended up at Hyannis airport around the time we worked out the plane was due.
Evyl, being the details man he is, omitted to give us a time the plane would actually LAND.
{Yeah goodonya mate!!}

Now, you have to remember here, none of we 3 waiting at the airport have ever met Evyl.
Seen pics yes, but pics when he had hair, and these days he has a nude nut.
The obvious thing to do was {drum roll please} LOOK for the nude nut, of course!
Damn, do you know how many fucking men in Hyannis airport have nude nuts????
SHIIIIIIIIIT!
1 plane, 2 planes, 3 planes, more planes!
From around {I think} the 5th plane emerged a large, bald man with a wrist brace on.
Knowing he had recently broken his wrist, we look at each other, raise our eyebrows and one of us says “Mac?”
We were greeted with a HUGE smile, and the words.
“How you doin’”
Well, that’s what people told me he said anyway, because he has a broad Texan accent, and I mean BROAD, and let me assure you, Joyce is just the same.
I spent most of the first couple of hours saying “FFS you 2, speak English, because I can’t understand a damned word you’re saying!”

It was quite the source of amusement for those around us let me say!
If you’re an Aussie and you’re reading this, don’t ever let anyone tell you we’re hard to understand.
I’ve spent a week with 2 Texans and it’s like a whole new freaking language.
We may speak fast, yes, but we are understandable.
Eventually {read, after about 2 days} I could catch 99% of what was being said, with just the odd blank look at someone to say “What the hell did he/she say???”
Cannot begin to tell you how good it was to finally meet, and hug, the man who has been one of my most staunch supporters in not only blogging, but is there every single time something goes wrong and a shoulder is required in the quiet way he has of doing things when a person is in any type of distress or has something troubling them.
Next to Michael, which is how I found him, no other man has been as loyal, and I freely admit I love him to bits.
This is THE most laid back man you could wish to meet.
More than willing to go along with anything suggested, happy to do anything anyone wanted to do, and let me add, this man CAN cook!
He did some chicken on the barbie {sorry guys…grill!} that is like nothing I’ve ever eaten before.
It was to die for.
As laid back as he is mind you, urban legend has it that when the Evyl one drinks tequila, he climbs trees!
Yes, trees, and if he didn’t have a broken wrist, something tells me we would have actually seen just that happen.
And damn, can he drink!
There are few people I’ve come across that can give Mark a run for his money, but I met him here.
One stubby as an appetiser, chase it down with a shot of tequila then settle with another stubby every 10 minutes, and tequila chasers in between.
Every female in earshot is darlin’ in that damp inducing Texan drawl {may be hard to understand till you get used to it, but shit it’s good all the same!!}
Mrs Evyl is quite the woman, let me tell you.
Many say she deserves a medal being married to one of the biggest pistols in the blogosphere, and in some ways, yes, she does, but overall, she gives as good as she gets, and damned well let me say!
I can say, with all honesty, I’ve seen our Evyl quite stuck for words.
Quite the thing to see.
There is more to come on this remarkable man and his {long suffering} wife including an experience NOT to be missed in this life {playing The Red Neck Game of Life} plus Celebrity Heads, fire pit stories, mini golf and more.
Once we were 4, it was time to start the fun and games that was our time on Cape Cod.
Photos are to come yes, and the minute I find time to scan them in, they will appear on a page of their own with links to each post.
I’m trying hard to get these posts done quicker, but as I said earlier, life has been mad.
3 stocktakes {the first being Tuesday} in 2 weeks is not helping my cause either.
It’s taken me 3 days to get this done.

Dad actually cooks very well

I apologise for this interruption to the amazing adventures of Moe and Mark, but I have an important community service announcement.
A new food blog has been born, and we all KNOW how I love new blogs {and food} right??
Mostly we know Michael as just ~m, and we’re well acquainted with Smoke and Mirrors, but this man is like an onion.
He has many layers, and one very close to his heart is his family.
Specifically his 3 daughters {he keeps Pam elsewhere }
After having spent some time with him and his family recently {yes, I can hear you all now “No! You didn’t??? Why didn’t you tell us??? wise arses is what you are} I can tell you, from first hand knowledge, this is a man who loves to cook for his family.
From omelets through to full steak dinners, he simply loves to cook good food.
I’ll add at this point that’s he’s a damned good cook too.
Pam and the girls have many favourites and for some time he’s been trying to find a way to record the many recipes he holds in his head so the girls can carry on the dining tradition when he is no longer able, or perhaps even been cooked himself.
Enter Dad’s Diner.
A food blog dedicated to not only the wonderful food he already cooks, but for any other recipe that may cross his radar and take his family’s fancy.
Please don’t be a stranger over there.
There will be some fabulous stuff to cook, and he won’t mind should you leave the odd comment letting him know how you got on making them yourself.
I’ve tried one of the recipes he has posted already and let me tell you, it was good.
In fact, very good.
Ok, on your way, go find a new recipe for dinner tonight.
Try the Chicken Masala.
Pam and the girls tell me it’s ridiculously good!!

Our masterpiece has only one more chapter to be done, and it will be complete.
Every person who contributed did a briliant job, and I thank each of you for your effort, from the bottom of my heart.
That people are willing to give up their time to play along means much to me.
Each of you gets to have a say in who you think should have the ~~bastard job~~ honor of putting the icing on our cake.
I tried to put a poll in, but the bastid would not cooperate, no matter how I begged, pleaded, cajoled or swore, so we’re going to do this the old fashioned way.

We’re all but done.
The burnmaster has done his bit here.
He was reasonably well behaved, for which I am eternally grateful I can tell you!

I’ve added his bit to the rest of it, as I have with all the others on it’s very own page.

Our drama is almost done! MOST exciting!

Now to decide how to finish it off. I’m in 2 minds, but the decison will be made within 24 hours at the most, so wander bck tomorrow night to see whats going to happen.

On another note, I’ve managed to catch up my comments at your blogs {at last..YAY!!} Only a couple of days later than I would have liked, but it’s done all the same.

So.
The Cowgal has done her bit, and done it well.
She had the unenviable task of following Annie and Evyl in our rolling post.
I think it was the nightmare scenario every person involved dreaded, but she handled it well.
Well done girl!
All of you wander over and have a read if you would be so kind?
The next nightmare scenario to be traversed, is he who is next in line.
Burnie.
Now, I know my husband. Very, very well.
Never once in his life has his mind lifted itself from the sewer. His mind actually apsires to rising to the gutter.
I shit you not!

We should all be quite concerned, however I have advised him, quite nicely, that porn will not be accepted, and how I would appreciate a concentrated effort to be good.
He assures me it will be so.
We’ll see shall we???
I’ve added the Cowgals contribution to our page, so it’s all in one place.
Now we await the Burnmaster {he’s the last because we had one drop out} and once he’s done his bit, I’ll think about how we’re going to make a decision on who does the final chapter.

As you all know, I have a rolling post happening.
Everybody has done extra good, even those who thought they may struggle {I include myself in there BTW..many things I am, a writer I am not!}
Anyhow, we all did our little bit, when were required to, and as I said, we got through.
Then came Annie.
Annie decided we needed a little shaking up, and shake us up she did!
Man what a twist!
Noone saw it coming…at all!
She picked it up by the scruff of the neck and shook the life out of it.
Having done that, she then passed it to the person most people sweat on any time he’s involved.
Yes, it’s true…Evyl is IN the house!!
As is his way, he’s also taken this little tale of ours and given us a twist that is indeed, purefnevyl!
Whislt everyone may be fascinated with the way in whch our last 2 contributors have taken us, please feel for the person who has need to follow them!
Cowgalutah is the unfortunate soul who was next to comment after Annie than Evyl, so she has the unenviable task of the next chapter.
Having said that, there is no doubt in my mind she will deal with it admirably, and knows we’ll be waiting with bated breath for what i sure to be a blinding chapter in our wonderous drama.
You go girl!

Our little tale has has taken off at a speed which defies words!
4 chapters added inside 24 hours has left me breathless, and trying to not only catch my tale {snigger} but leaving me wondering where our tale of epic proportions will take us next?
With everyone’s submissions coming thick and fast, and a twist that’s thrown us for a huge loop, it’s gotten big, and fast, so you’ll find it here, with links to all who have contributed.
Our very own Evyl is next up and, as you will discover, he has THE best run in a person could ask for.
Annie has taken this by the scruff of the neck and shaken it till there are bones rattling.
Mine included!
She has also done the above montage that will forever stay with out very own tale of romance, drama and mystery.
I can hear the organ music playing now, can’t you??
The mad laughter of an insane professor, with the audience booing and hissing at the villain!
