Dreams are strange happenings.
We don’t understand why we have them, yet most people do.
Their purpose has been an unanswered question for long as history has been recorded.
No, I don’t have the answer, but I can tell you there is a trigger for my dreams {as I type that, I can hear my 3 girls as a chorus}
PORK!!!
I kid you not. Pork.
Ordinarily, I lucid dream, which can be quite the advantage should a dream not be to my liking.
However, when the dream is triggered by pork, I lose the ability to know it’s a dream, thus I can’t wake myself up.
Pork dreams {as I call them in my head} are 100% nonsensical.
Most of them are the better than any comedy show you could watch, joke you can hear, or indeed any science fiction show you would see.
To give you an idea of what I mean when I say nonsensical, I’ll give you a small list of the bizarre things that appear, and happen, in my pork dreams.
Life sized purple grasshoppers
Jumbo jet size psychedelic orange flies
Living on a bright green planet in space with Klingon or Cardassian neighbours
Running through a field of canary yellow trees while being pursued by a 4 headed t rex
These are but a small taste of the things that come to me while I sleep.
Lucid dreaming is a strange thing.
If I’m having a nightmare {not uncommon} then I know it’s a nightmare and I can wake myself up.
On the other hand, should I be having a pleasant dream, the very second it occurs to me that it’s a dream, I wake up without wanting to.
Most frustrating.
As I get a little older, I’m finding it’s not only pork which will trigger strange dreams.
If we have a later than normal dinner and it includes something spicy, the same thing will happen.
They may not be on the same bizarre level as they are with pork as yet, however as time goes by, I find them slowly becoming just as odd.
I was wondering if I’m the only one who has dream triggers.
I’m certainly not making an attempt to work out why we dream, what meaning they have or indeed how they occur, this is merely something I thought I’d throw out there.

Of late my head is quite complicated.
I have trouble focusing on anything other than Boston, the trip to be had, and when I can think?
All over the place like you would not believe.
I do remember this time last year my head was difficult to deal with, but I knew why at that point.
We hadn’t had a holiday for well over 10 or 11 years and the time between them had been quite emotional in many ways, for many reasons.
The trip itself promised to be emotional, again for many reasons, and I had put my heart and soul into organising and making it happen.
I was driven for a long, long time as though who know me realised.
Parts of that process were difficult and overall it took close to 15 months before it came to fruition.
Quite the exhausting, if satisfying, process.
This year is different.
We’re wiser, more street smart, plus knowing what awaits us makes it a little easier.
There not an unknown to be seen, unlike last year.
So, my question is, where the hell is my head now?
When it’s not in Boston, it jumps from one place to another like some sort of moronic, epileptic creature, the likes of which has never been seen in this world.
Work is a trial, home is satisfying yet unsettled for some reason, I miss the girls yet don’t spend enough time with the one we have close enough to spend time with.
In the space of an hour I can think about well over 100 silly, different things, and it’s just non stop.
I ponder the meaning of life and was prompted to do my last post because it refused to leave me alone until I got the words out of my head.
When I think I’m ready to sleep at night, exhausted from the way my head has me, let alone the physical need to sleep, it simply doesn’t happen.
My head still refuses to stop.
I struggle to find that sweet black spot which allows me to fall into a deep, untroubled sleep, and when I do sleep it’s nonsensical dreams that I wake myself from for fear of what’s going to happen next {yes, I lucid dream thank God!}
Even this post is all over the place and seems to make little sense!
Perhaps I’m tired, perhaps I just getting old, who the hell knows.
All I know at the moment is, I’m over it.
Seriously over it.
I want my head back to normal!

WTF moment #485

Every week Stumble Upon sends me an email with sites they recommend based on my likes and dislikes.
This morning I received the current weeks email from them, and included is a site that captured human ovulation on camera.
After going through my likes and dislikes, I see no indication of my interest in reproduction at all, let alone looking at the insides of some woman who had a camera stuck up, or in, her!
WTF???

I’m a mad keen baseball fan, as is Mark.
When in Boston this year we went to see the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park, and had THE best night, and can’t wait to do it again, which we will.
Now, the World Series is the pinnacle of things to win in baseball.
The Holy Grail if you like.
Ticket prices are insane, yet still people pay for them without a second thought, and I will admit nothing would please me more than to see a World Series game {preferably with the Sox playing, of course}
My problem is that I have an issue with the amount I would need to pay, in order to achieve this goal.
Pay?
Hmmm.
In this case I’m not sure pay is the right word.
Perhaps barter would be a more appropriate word do you think?
Whilst I admire this woman’s loyalty to her team, I do need to ask what the hell she was thinking when she tried this little stunt.
The biggest problem it created for her is she tried to “barter” with a cop.
Maybe someone needs to tell her that in order to hit a home run, one must hit the ball right on the sweet spot of the bat, not let it go through to the catcher!!!

My head is noisy this week.
Crowded.
Cluttered.
Busy.
In an attempt to quieten my brain, I wondered if taking out the things I know and writing them down, would help to create order from chaos.
Hmmm…..
Nothing to lose, peace and quiet to gain.
Sounded good to me.
Here is the product of my little excercise.

Good food to share with both the above
Top shelf bourbon and coke
Warm balmy nights
Walking on the beach {preferably when it’s raining}
A clear starred filled night
Watching the sun rise in the sky, and light the day

A damned good down in the gutter animal fuck {now and then}
Making love, gently and slowly

Arrogance
Indecision
Knob jockeys
People who don’t use indicators
Bad restaurant service

I’m over
Being tired
Working long hours
Waiting for July 14th
Auditors
Feeling homesick
Missing my girls and their kids
The child next door who never stops fucking crying

How to win customers in one easy lesson.
If this was my company I’d be firing this employees arse in the same damned quick manner these people have. Noone in their right mind would want a cretin like this one working for them. The loss of business alone would be enough to make me consider suing the turkey that did it, via the civil process. You can sue (successfully) for breaking your leg whilst engaged in criminal activity so I’m thinking this is a shoo in!!

I want to know who proof read this article…whoever it was didn’t think too hard about the statement made in the second paragraph. Given the nature of the story you would think someone may have thought to change the wording???
Unless it’s a strange way of saying they were “fornicating” as they so quaintly put it further on in the story, (if indeed that’s what it refers to…)

given my post a few days ago, and now this, i have a question…what is with men and their butts??? if this article is correct (and given it’s a pom, the probability is high!!) here’s another one with a fascination for it…wonder if some researchers could look into it?
