There are many awards running around the net.
Most have been started for a reason, be it that someone thinks a lot of another persons blog, or they may simply want the links to increase their page rank.
Me, I don’t give a shit about page rank, but I do appreciate a good blog.
One that makes me think, says something to me, or strikes a chord with me, in some way.
So I’ve decided to create some awards of my own in appreciation of blogs such as the types I’ve mentioned above.
There will be no rules, not even any need for a link if the recipient chooses not to do so, nor do they have to post it.
The choice is theirs, and theirs alone.
It’s not about the links, it’s about saying what I think of a blog or a blogger.
I would ask people not pass them on for the sake of passing them on, but only if they feel the blog in question is of the nature the award suggests.
So.
Today would have been my Mum’s 75th birthday, and as she’s not here to give a pressie to, I thought the next best thing was to give one to someone else.

Michael runs Smoke and Mirrors as most of you would know.
He posts many things, but his original desire was to traverse, in writing, the confusing labryinth created when one’s life is touched by Alzheimers disease.
His life has been touched not just once, but twice, by this foul affliction, and it’s when he writes of these events, memories or experiences that he shines so very brightly.
It’s quite the talent that can take such a painful subject and weave it into words which are {heartbreakingly} beautiful and haunting as he does.
Smoke and Mirrors, and the man who runs it, are what I call soulful, and the words certainly come from a scribe, thus the name of the award.

I also find it fitting the first of my own awards go to S&M.
It was a post on there that pushed me to saying those words “I gotta get me a blog!!!”
And thus it began.

There will be more awards {as I’m currently working on them} but I need to find just the right pic for each of them.
I’m quite anal like that, I know!
As I find what I’m looking for, I’ll post one each week.
Every person on my blogroll gives me something.
It’s time I gave something back given my visiting has been just about non exsistent of late!!
