Ch Ch Ch changes

In light of Christmas only being a month away, I thought the time was right to put up my choice of seasonal themes for the year.
I didn’t want anything too fancy and this one suited my idea of simple.
Most Christmas themes incorporate snow, and Santas {which are not the main reason for the season} but here in Oz we don’t see snow in the summer, so I thought it would have been out of place.
Trying to find something with an Aussie flavor proved impossible, so I went for simple decorations in the header.
Decorations are, after all, something that everyone has regardless of the season.
Please feel free to pass judgment.
I do like feedback.
In the new year, there will be more change as well.
By the time January 1st is here, I want not only a new blog name, but a new tagline.
You heard it here first.
The nook will be no more, nor will I be on the edge.
This may came as a surprise to some people, given I haven’t breathed a word about it to a living soul, not even Mark, but the time is right I believe.
After 3 years, the time for change has come.
I have no idea what the new name, or the tagline will be, but I have intentions of consulting a few people who know me best.
Those who understand me, know what makes me tick, and have an idea of what is important to me.
For the 3 people who still read here, please feel free to contribute.
Any and all suggestions are welcome, so don’t be shy.
If you do have an idea, there is a contact form to use, or you may already have my email address, so don’t hold back.
If you think you have a good idea, say so.
I’m quite open minded about it, however it would be nice to have an Aussie flavor.
Ultimately it may not take that road should something really grab me, so whilst I believe it would be good, it’s not vital.
As the title says, changes are happening.

ETA: The domain will stay the same, only the blog name and tagline will be different.
Once I decide on a new one that is…

Oh Ok -I get it. I commented at the wrong post! Being the blogging whiz of the universe, maybe you can move them to their proper place.
    If not,oh well!
    Just blow them away

You’re not on the edge anymore and you haven’t fallen off (that’s good).Curious, very curious! :?:
No, you didn’t comment on the wrong post…when you made the other comments this post hadn’t been done..I was still doing it…
Besides, you can comment anywhere you want, and any time you want…

Love the simplicity of this year’s holiday theme, Mo. A new blog….awesome. I will look forward to seeing the new perspective. Happiest of holiday seasons to you and yours. May the love that surrounds you match and exceed the love you share.

the domain will stay the same, but the name and tagline will change, so that means the hunt for a suitable theme is on too…could be interesting…
i hope you and yours have a good one too…

I had no idea so much change was in the wind but so be it.
    Goodonya.
The first thing I thought of for a blog title was (obviously) ‘Under The Southern Cross’
if you could find a real nice pic of the constellation for a header it would look great.
    Then I thought, ‘VegeMoe’ tagline: ‘great on everything . . . ”
That’s when my brain konked out.
Either way, what ever you do it will be brilliant.
I know you and I know how this will go.
Don’t know if I helped but let me know and I’ll kick the name around some more . . .

i did think it would come as a surprise because in all the talking we do i haven’t said a word..it’s been running around my head for some time, and new year seems appropriate…i’ll also admit “under the southern cross” was my very first thought, but the tagline is the bug bear…i’ll keep the same domain though, not going down that road again i can assure you…”vegemoe”? that does have a ring i’ll admit…not sold on the tagline though…the “on everything” is good but the “great” could do with some rework..we’ll talk on saturday my friend….at length
have a great thanksgiving btw…would LOVE to be there with you…

The theme is clean yet festive! I really like it and the decorations are beautiful! Good luck on your new name and tagline! I’m sure it’ll be a doozie :)
the theme is simple, which is unlike me!

    a doozie? maybe…depends on my sounding boards….

First time here (Hello there!). Came over from Sixty’s place after wishing the old boy a happy birthday. Nice job on the theme! The header is subtly beautiful and the curtain (as in theater type) going up slowly in the background as you scroll down the page is an excellent touch.

Unfortunately, being a first timer, I don’t know you well enough to offer any suggestions for title and tag–sounds like I’m buying a car– (apart from a few plugins you might benefit from) but from what I see here you won’t need much help. ;)
firstly, welcome to my humble abode!
I love new people, and I love comments even more!

the theme grabbed me because of it’s elegance and simplicity, both are attributes that appeal, and yet other times i find THE most convoluted theme you could ever wish for…go figure!
suggestions on plugins are always welcome because i love fiddling with the blog…if it works good and well, if I don’t like it, then i just delete it….
i’ll be by your place to have a look around real soon….feel free to wander back anytime it takes your fancy, i’m never too far away

    Hi Amum

A virgin commenter on your blog. I’ve come across from Kell’s a few times. Like the other three readers I love the theme. Ditto Kirk’s comments about the curtains. Now I’m trying to think of something Aussie as a heading. The only thing that comes to mind is the name of a Triffids song “Wide Open Road” I don’t think there is a song more Australian, if you know it, you’ll know what I mean. Probably won’t suit though. I’ll keep thinking if an  strikes me I’ll let you know.
Cheers and a merry Christmas to you and yours.

welcome! i have seen you at kel’s being cheeky at times, although kel is her mothers daughter and more than capable of holding her own…
    ;)
the title is something that’s not going to come easily because it’s been what it is from day 1, so it needs to be right.
by all means, if inspiration strikes, feel free to speak up…
and merry christmas to you and yours as well…

Sorry for the late reply. On plugins, I’ll use your contact form to suggest a few of the basic “no blog should be without” type plugins. We can banter about them by email that way.
    And banter we did!

ahhh, that’s why you are looking for more themes.
I could see a southern sky theme suiting you down to the ground, but also a travelling one. You’ve been on a few journeys this year, physically and otherwise.

I think of you and think of the end of Robert Frost’s ‘The road not taken’

two roads diverged in a wood, and I –
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

You do things the way you think they need to be done regardless of what everyone else would do or thinks you should do. You take that road less traveled by and it does make all the difference.

it has indeed been quite the year for us, in many ways…some good, others not so good, but it’s part of defining what makes us “us”
yes, i’m on the lookout for a new theme for jan 1…i thought a new blog name deserved at least a new theme, if nothing else….but shit it’s giving me some grief!!
i wouldn’t have thought the combination of 3 columns, dark and with a customisable header would be so damned difficult, particularly when i’ve been trawling premium themes {my christmas pressie btw…i have THE most understanding husband in the world i think…
